For Areley Kings (WF18) cubs, excitement, challenge and adventure are key. Our programme offers a huge variety of activities, including outdoor skills, taking part in adventurous activities, as well as camps and residential experiences. WF18 Cub Scouts follow a simple set of rules, known as the Cub Scout Law, which they are expected to live; "Cub Scouts always do their best, think of others before themselves and do a good turn every day."

Areley Kings WF18 cubs are given more responsibility than Beaver Scouts They can go longer on camps and attempt more challenging activities. Cub packs are divided into sixes, where they will be encouraged to develop their leadership skills and lead their six.

Where possible and when necessary, we encourage parents of our cubscouts to help out. This may be for one meeting a year or on our group executive committee by helping with fund raising for the group. Parents may even want to get more involved and become leaders themselves. In fact most of our current leaders are parents of children in the group. The section leader will talk to you about how you can help when you child first joins.us.

How can my child join Areley Kings (WF18) Cub Section?:

There are two ways in which children can join the group:

  1. By moving up from our Beaver scout section when they are 8 years old - click here to learn fore about our Beaver colony.
  2. By contacting the Cub Section Leader to see if there are any spaces available.

Currently we are able to run a cub section of no more than 15 children. This is to ensure that they are kept safe at all times by operating to a strict Leader to child ratio. If our section is full then we operate a waiting list which is based upon a first come first served basis - If you do wish your child to join directly into the WF18 Cub section, it is wise to contact the leaders as soon as possible to see if there is a space available to them or if you need to put your child on the waiting list.
