The Areley Kings (WF18) Scout section is about spending time with friends, working as part of a team and participating fully in the adventure of life. WF18 Scouts take part in a balanced programme that helps them to find out about the world where they live. They’ll discover talents they never knew they had.

Being outdoors is also an important part of WF18 and so over half the programme is given over to taking part in both Scouting skills, such as camping and cooking as well as adventurous activities, from abseiling to yachting.

Where possible and when necessary (particularly when we only have one or two leaders), we encourage parents of our scouts to help out. This may be for one meeting a year or on our group executive committee by helping with fund raising for the group. Parents may even want to get more involved and become leaders themselves. In fact most of our current leaders are parents of children in the group. The section leader will talk to you about how you can help when you child first joins.us.

How can my child join Areley Kings (WF18) Scout Section?:

There are two ways in which children can join the group:

  1. By moving up from our Cub scout section when they are 10.5  years old - click here to learn fore about our cub section.
  2. By contacting the Section leader to see if there are any spaces available.

Currently we are able to run a cub section of no more than 15 children. This is to ensure that they are kept safe at all times by operating to a strict Leader to child ratio. If our section is full then we operate a waiting list which is based upon a first come first served basis - If you do wish your child to join directly into the WF18 cub section, it is wise to contact the leaders as soon as possible to see if there is a space available to them or if you need to put your child on the waiting list.
